About the Practitioner

Thank you for taking an interest in my work. My name is Callie Nixdorf and I am a 1995 honors graduate of Boulder School of Massage Therapy, Boulder, CO. While immersed in their extensive program, I took a special interest in neuromuscular therapy, kinesiology, hydrotherapy, integrative therapy and zen shiatsu. In addition, I hold certificates of completion in healing touch for the elderly and chronically ill, massage for the child-bearing year, reiki II degree, orthopedic massage for common injuries and advanaced myofascial techniques. I have had the privilage of working with a wide variety of clients, from pregnant women to horses, athletes to the injured, adolescents to the elderly.

The longer I practice, the more I realize how awe-inspiring is the human body, both as a vehicle and as a vessel for our greater selves. I feel each session is a learning experience, each client is a teacher. Remembering that every body is unique, and your needs and goals may vary from session to session, each massage will be tailored to reflect your current goals and desires.
My primary purpose is to help you help yourself to feel more at home in your body. For some, that may mean to reduce pain or to move with more grace and ease. To others, that may mean to facilitate awareness of habitual holding and movement patterns. To yet others, it is simply providing a quite place to unwind and let go of the stressors of the day. I may draw upon a variety of modalities and techniques, including but not limited to: swedish massage, myofascial release, reflexology, jin shin do, shiatsu, integrative bodywork, passive stretching and deep tissue techniques such as cross-fiber friction and trigger point therapy.
Please remember that your massage is your time and you always have a say in how the session progresses. I welcome feedback at anytime to better help you with what you bring to the table.
